"Cancer is potentially the most preventable and most curable of the major
life-threatening diseases facing humankind. By applying existing knowledge
and promoting evidence-based actions in cancer control, we will turn this
truth into reality for all people everywhere."

About UICC
International Union Against Cancer

The International Union Against Cancer (UICC) is the only international non-governmental organisation that is dedicated solely to the global control of cancer. Its vision is of a world where cancer is eliminated as a major life-threatening disease for future generations.

As the largest independent, non-profit, non-governmental association of more than 270 cancer-fighting organisations in 84 countries, UICC is the catalyst for responsible dialogue and collective action. UICC brings together individuals in the global campaign against cancer from a wide range of organisation including advocacy groups, patient survivor support networks, voluntary cancer societies, public health authorities and research and treatment centres. The UICC employs a multi-disciplinary staff and many with extensive experience in cancer control.

Both globally, through its partners and volunteer experts as well as locally, through its member organisations and grassroots networks, UICC serves as a catalyst for responsible dialogue and effective action.
